The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired's Top 10 Videos Of The Week (11/8/13) [VIDEO]
With the arrival of REVOLT TV, rappers had better start stepping up their cinematography swag. This week, Hip-Hop Wiredsifted through more in-studio performances and one-scene shots than we care to remember.
Not to say that the mentality didn't make sense when all the dollars were coming out of the artist's pocket. The lanes for video play are congested considering the number of artists and extra non-musical videos like behind-the-scenes clips and quick interviews also playing a part in the fight for attention spans.
Even still, a big budget isn't the breaking point to execute on the creativity end. In this week's edition of The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired's Top 10 Videos Of The Week, there's an example of the extreme on both ends (pages 2 and 11 to be exact).
Everything in between fits a range for all tastes, just like a good collection of videos should. Whether you have pennies or you're in the penthouse, it doesn't matter to us.
It's all about how you present it.
Aaron Cohen ft. ABGOHARD - "Nickvanexelrose"
Only a demented mind would combine the Lakers and Guns N' Roses but Mr. Cohen manages to pull it off rather nicely.
Ransom & Statik Selektah - "Start To Finish/It's Ransom"
One video, two stories.
Lantana ft. Yo Gotti, Bun B & Pusha T – "All Hustle, No Luck (Remix)"
You know that visual you get when you watch non-3-D movies with 3-D glasses? Yeah, it's just like that.
League Of Extraordinary Gz ft. Slim Gravy - "Intercourse"
The Texas collective stripped away as much imagination YouTube would allow for this lustful ditty.
DJ Whoo Kid ft. Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Ferg & Problem – "More Champagne"
The G-Unit disc jock made sure to travel to both coasts for his bottle service.
Vic Mensa ft. Eliza Doolittle – "YNSP"
Do not attempt to hit that tracking button. The special effects come free of charge with the dope sample.
7 Days Of Funk (Dam-Funk & Snoopzilla) - "Faden Away"
This video was likely inspired of the time your father first knew he wanted to schmang your mother.
Rich Rocka ft. Trae Tha Truth - "Mayday"
Serial Killers (Xzibit, B-Real & Demrick) – "Wanted"
Live and direct from Hell, the Serial Killers rap like they're happy to be there.
