Troy Ave Calls Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar & Flatbush Zombies "Weirdos" [Video]

Troy Ave Calls Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar & Flatbush Zombies Weirdos

Troy Ave compares himself to Malcolm X while discussing "weirdo" rappers, talks about drug use among artists.
Following the release of “New York City,” a record in which Brooklyn emcee Troy Ave references fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, the New York City-based wordsmith has finally shed some light on the Kendrick Lamar mention some may have felt was a diss.
On the Raekwon, N.O.R.E, and Prodigy-assisted record, Troy Ave raps, “It was Big, Jay Z, now Troy Ave here after / But Kendrick Lamar's just a weirdo rapper.”
According to Troy Ave, his mention of Kendrick being a weirdo was a fact and not a diss. While addressing the weirdo mention on “New York City,” Troy also went on to question the Compton rapper’s street credibility, stating that Kendrick is more so from the streets than in the streets.
“Because I was stating a fact,” said Troy during an interview on New York City’s Hot 97. “It wasn’t a diss or nothing. That’s like somebody being like, ‘Troy Ave is a dark-skinned rapper.’ Alright, it’s a fact. Weirdo is—Right now, with social media and the internet there’s a lot of different groups that are getting mixed and gelled into one. And it doesn’t go like that. Like with rock music you have different genres of rock. You have pop rock. You have classic rock. You have—help me out here—alternative rock. Now with rap music you can’t just fuse all types of rap. The basis of rap is from the streets. Every artist of any era in rap history, the biggest artist has always been from the streets.
“Kendrick was raised in it,” he added. “It’s a difference between being from an area and being in the streets. It’s a difference. You know what I mean?”
Troy also named a handful of other rappers he feels are weirdos, among them were Kanye West and Brooklyn rap group Flatbush Zombies.
“Yeah, Kanye’s a weirdo. It’s a lot of rappers that’s weirdos…I like a lot of Kendrick Lamar’s records too. It’s a lot of weirdo rappers that’s out—It’s mad weirdo rappers. Y’all don’t understand it,” said the Brooklyn emcee.
He later questioned why the drug user has become more celebrated than the drug dealer in Hip Hop, and also compared himself to Malcolm X while expressing his desire to take his music to the extreme.
“This is why the game is twisted,” said Troy. “Everything is getting twisted right now because at what point did we start celebrating the drug user instead of the drug dealer? That shit is backwards…Would you rather your kids be strung out on drugs or dealing drugs…I gotta take it extreme. I gotta be extreme with this—I’m like Malcolm X with this music, man.”
Troy Ave’s interview on Hot 97 comes just days after the release of his newest project, New York City The Album. Released on November 4, the LP is one Troy says is “the best representation of New York City rap in over a decade.”
“This is going to be a classic,” said the rapper. “This is the best representation of New York City rap in over a decade. I promise. I'll give people their money back if it's not the best in over a decade. I got the classic sound and I'm improving on it. This album is like a classic car, like a Mercedes Benz, but this is the new body that came out.”
New York City The Album includes guest appearances from a number of rappers from the five boroughs, including Tony Yayo, Prodigy, Raekwon, and more.

Jimmy Kimmel Addresses Interview With Kanye West

Jimmy Kimmel Addresses Interview With Kanye West

Jimmy Kimmel gives Kanye West props for taking the first step towards settling their feud.
On Wednesday (October 9), Kanye West appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
The appearance was highly-anticipated, following a feud between Kanye and Kimmel, when West expressed his outrage on Twitter at Kimmel's spoof of a recent interview of the rapper on BBC Radio 1.
During the interview, West explained why he was upset at Kimmel's spoof, and delved into his opinion of himself and discussed his mother.
On Thursday (October 10), in an interview with Grantland, Kimmel gave an interview of his own, expressing his opinion on how the interview with Kanye Went.
Kimmel was asked how he felt conducting an interview where the interviewee did the majority of the talking. "Well, y'know — one thing I learned on the radio is the value of shutting up and listening," said Kimmel. "He had a lot to say and he seemed very passionate and I felt like I was absorbed by it, and I thought the audience was too. They told me afterward that in the green room you could hear a pin drop, which is rare. Usually no one in the green room is paying any attention to the show."
The talk show host delved into his thoughts about why Kanye was so upset at being spoofed. "Yeah. I think [Kanye] said it best. I think he said that he reads and sees a lot of things that frustrate him, and the difference is that in this case he was able to call me, whereas he isn't able to call TMZ or whatever it is that bothers him. And I have to say, I did relate to a lot of the things that he said."
Kimmel continued, explaining that he was able to personally relate to Kanye's frustrations, as they mirrored some of the career difficulties Kimmel faced. "Personally, I went through many situations where people hold what you're good at against you. I was a very good producer when I was on the radio, and I'd write comedy for the guys I worked with. And because I was very good at it, the general managers at radio stations I worked at told me I was a behind-the-scenes guy, and I shouldn't be on the microphone. I should be behind the scenes, supporting the guys on the mic. And, y'know, I wind up hosting a network television show. And I remind those guys of that every time I see them, as much as I possibly can. So I can see how he's frustrated.I don't know anything about fashion. I don't know who's good at it, who's not good at it. For all I know he could be the greatest or the worst fashion designer in the world. But I do understand that frustration."
Kimmel also gave Kanye credit for making the first step towards settling the feud. "Y'know, he took down his tweets. And I felt like that was a conciliatory move. And then I sent him an e-mail, and we exchanged a couple of e-mails, and that was that. And then he sent me an e-mail saying he'd like to come on the show and talk about it. So we worked it so we could get him on Wednesday."

Kanye West's "Gone" Hits Charts Eight Years After Its Release [Video]

Kanye West's "Gone" Hits Charts Eight Years After Its Release
A "Late Registration" selection hits the Hot 100 chart eight years after its release, likely thanks to Marina Shifrin's viral video.
Kanye West's Cam'ron and Consequence-assisted "Gone," a track off his 2005 album, Late Registration, debuted at #18 in the Hot 100 this week. "Gone" is also #6 on the R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart and #4 on the Rap Songs chart, as per billboard.com.
The Kanye West song gained popularity after being featured in a viral video recently.
The viral video featured writer and comedian Marina Shifrin who recently quit her job as a video editor. The clip showed her explaining her departure by dancing around an empty office to the tune of Kanye West's "Gone."
"On September 28th, I decided to leave my job as a journalist because I felt the industry wasn't doing justice to its talented writers," Shifrin wrote in an article on huffingtonpost.com. "I wanted to leave in a way that would make my parents laugh and do justice to my position as viral video editor. I came up with this video. I woke up the next day and found out a few people, 11 million and counting, had viewed it."
The video, which has more than 15 million views, can be viewed below.

Shifrin was invited to "The Queen Latifah Show" to discuss the viral video's success. While on the program, Latifah appeared to offer Shifrin a job.
"I want to be surrounded by cool, creative, interesting people," Latifah said. "And with your experience, maybe I could create a position. What if I created something called digital content producer? You think that might be something you're interested in?" Shifrin said she was interested and the two said they'd speak more about it.
Digital sales of "Gone" have also gone up, as per billboard.com. The selection moved approximately 9,000 units this week, according to Nielsen Soundscan. YouTube reports 6.2 million streams of the song in the U.S., allowing the single to rank at #4 in the Streaming Songs chart.
According to billboard.com, Kanye West now has 59 hits that have me Hot 100. Drake has 65, Jay Z has 80 and Lil Wayne has 120.

Kanye West To Appear On "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
Jimmy Kimmel tweeted that Kanye West will appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
Jimmy Kimmel sent a tweet today (October 8) that said that Kanye West will be a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” tomorrow (October 9).
The scheduled appearance comes after Kanye West took offense last month to a skit Jimmy Kimmel featured on his program where Kimmel’s team spoofed Kanye West's recent interview on BBC Radio 1.
The skit, which aired onJimmy Kimmel Live!, featured children reenacting West's interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe.
Before airing the spoof, Jimmy Kimmel also joked about the interview.
"You're not gonna believe this, but he said a lot of weird stuff," Kimmel said of West's interview in a monologue. "He said he was the #1 rockstar on the planet, whatever planet he's on, and a lot of other great stuff about himself. Does Kanye West know you're not supposed to be your own hype man? I don't know if it's a money-saving thing, but I like it."
Jimmy Kimmel's tweet from today and his spoof of Kanye West's interview are as follows:
On September 26, Kanye West tweeted his response to Kimmel’s spoof.

NEWS: PUSHA T FINALLY EXPLAINS WHY DEBUT'LL OUTSHINE 'MAGNA CARTA,' 'YEEZUS' & MORE [VIDEO]

TUESDAY, OCT 8, 2013

After proclaiming his new
My Name Is My Name solo release will topple its competition this year, G.O.O.D Music's Pusha T has finally explained why the long-awaited debut is in a class of its own.
In Pusha's opinion, the project's lyricsm and overall production outshine what has hit store shelves in 2013.
"Lyrically, My Name Is My Name is untouchable," said a confident Pusha. "Production-wise, it is definitely the best produced album of the year by far. Ultimately, it's the only album to me that really restores the feeling of hip-hop. I think everything else is easy listening. I feel like mine really makes you put an 'S' on your chest and calls for a course of action. It's music you can front to, like LL [Cool J] would have said back then." (Rap-Up)
Recently, Pusha said he made sure to come hard on his new LP by going into a late musical 90's zone.
"I didn't learn the art form of rapping in those different stages -- I only knew to be as ill as you can be lyrically," he said. "It's all about creating that nostalgia. When it came to My Name Is My Name I said to myself, 'Man, I wanna make something that I love and I wanna listen to myself. I wanna go to an era and revisit an era that was strictly about lyrics.' So I had to go to '95-'99 -- a great mixtape era, a great B.I.G./Jay era. To me it was just more so about re-creating the greatness of an amazing time." (MTV)
Despite having behind-the-scenes help fromKanye West, Pusha opts out of featuring Yeezus on the 12-track project.
1. "King Push" 2. "Numbers On The Board" 3. "Sweet Serenade" feat. Chris Brown 4. "Hold On" feat. Rick Ross 5. "Suicide" feat. Ab-Liva 6. "40 Acres" feat. The-Dream 7. "No Regrets" feat. Jeezy and Kevin Cossom 8. "Let Me Love You" feat. Kelly Rowland 9. "Who I Am" feat. 2 Chainz & Big Sean 10. "Nosetalgia" feat. Kendrick Lamar 11. "Pain" feat. Future 12. "S.N.I.T.C.H." feat. Pharrell (My Name Is My Name)
Over the summer, Kanye gave a rant-filled speech at the G.O.O.D Music member's album release party in New York.
Pusha-T was the guest of honor at his "My Name Is My Name" album listening party Wednesday night in Brooklyn, but all eyes were on the man standing next to him: Kanye West. After asking the DJ to wait before starting the next track, West got on the mic and delivered one of his fiercest rants to date, expressing his support for Pusha-T by ripping some of the usual suspects ("corporations") and taking aim at some new supposed trend biters (people who wear camouflage prints, people who "put numbers on the back of their t-shirts"). (Huffington Post)
While he would not name-drop every album that's come out this year including Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail and Ye's Yeezus, Mr. T recently said his project would ultimately reign supreme.
"Well, I've heard a lot of them. And mine is better. [Laughs.] I just know what I'm looking to bring to the music game, and it's a certain level of energy. I've made the perfect album that I want to put in my car and ride to. It's a certain energy that makes you do stupid things like ride past the club three times with the windows down when it's cold outside just so people can hear what you're listening to. I made that album. And I was that stupid guy at one point, so I know I made it." (Esquire)

EXTREMELY POPULAR YOUTUBE BLOGGER FACING COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT OVER PARODY MUSIC VIDEO

EXTREMELY POPULAR YOUTUBE BLOGGER FACING COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT OVER PARODY MUSIC VIDEO

Blogger Jessie Spencer Becomes The First Youtuber Ever To Be Sued Over Copyright Infringement.
Creating a new work based on someone else’s prior work (called a “derivative work”) is another example of an infringement that copyright law protects against. Many songwriters have been sued for “sampling” other writers’ music (incorporating parts of other writers’ songs into their works). Contrary to a widely circulated rule of thumb, even using as few as four notes from another song can be an infringement.
YouTube does not make determinations of fair use. Fair use is determined in a court of law on a case by case basis.
2 weeks ago I posted a parody song called "I Am A Dog" and I received a DMCA Takedown notice and my Youtube Channel was terminated and the video was taken down. The video featured SNL cast member Jay Pharoah, a grown ass man in his late 30's rolling around on the floor in a dog costume doing his own rendition of Kanye West's "I Am A God." This COVER VERSION of KANYE WEST'S SONG "I AM GOD" has gotten over a million views but YouTube has discouraged other people from doing cover songs.

A group of out of work TV screenwriters non-talented hacks who call themselves the Above Average Network: http://bit.ly/LlHUTM posted the video the  on their YouTube Channel sent me this copyright notice Copyright Counter-Notification http://www.youtube.com/copyright_counter?v=sZGzlGyPnpA clearly stating they want to sue me for posting this dumb video on YouTube Channel because I was getting a bunch of hits on my channel and threatening their livelihood.
