We've all seen the video and laughed out loud while watching it. The video in which novelty rapper Trinidad James said "The South runs New York" on stage in front of a packed house and nobody did shit. But today, Maino, Smoke DZA and more spoke up on their city's behalf.
"What the f**k happened?" James ranted to the mostly stunned crowd. "I remember when New York rap was the s**t, and us in the south, us 'bammas, we was like, 'What the f**k?' and we just did our own thing. But now we run y'all, that's crazy."
The video instantly went viral, which found fans and critics alike all offering their own thoughts on the matter. Today (Nov. 13), New York rapper's MainoAG Da Coroner and Smoke DZA all took to Twitter to vent their frustrations about the Def Jam musician's southern-fried rant.
After threatening via Twitter to "brush those teeth" and "clean him up," Maino's online venom caught James' attention, who quickly responded, tweeting, "You better than that. You can hit my line my n****. That's 100."

Was Trinidad James right in his rant? Is New York looking "soft and fluffy," right now?

One hit wonder Trinidad James has a nervous breakdown while performing on stage in front of a packed house about music industry politics and makes a long bizarre rant in which he makes the statement  “The South Runs NYC” and the entire was caught on tape.
James has also been backing up his stance via the Twitter this morning. Check out what he’s said since, below.
