Buffalo’s Lady Lyricist, Nubian — who’s set to rightfully sue recording artist Cassidy for not only pulling a fast cash grab, but also ‘sabotaging Nubian’s concert.’
“Cassidy took the money but didn’t hold up his end of the deal.”
According to exclusively obtained documents — including email and contractual performance agreement, between Nubian and Cassidy –31-year-old Barry Adrian ‘Cassidy’ Reese agreed to Nubian’s Buffalo, New York March 3rd club performance, charging “$5,800 booking fee; 3 Hotel Rooms; and FULL SECURITY FOR TALENT UPON ARRIVAL AT EVENT.” That appears to be before Cassidy’s wife, Shanay Reed, stepped in to spark a bait-and-switch tactic over Nubian, offering “a package deal.”
“Nubian ended up paying more than ten-thousand in for Cassidy to do the concert, lay his vocals to be a featured on her song, and show up as a feature for her video the day after the concert.”
“Nubian wired 29-hundred dollars to Shanay for Cassidy to lay his vocals. They told her she’d have to pay them another four-thousand for them to send the recording back.”
“Cassidy did Nubian’s song, but didn’t show up for the video.”

“Nubian flew Cassidy and two of his boys to Buffalo, and paid for three hotel rooms at the Embassy Suites. Right after he landed, he started making demands. He said he wanted a barber, and a DJ for his show. Nubian came out of pocket for that too.
Cassidy showed up two-hours late for his scheduled time to hit the stage. His unacceptable tardiness cost Nubian to lose everything she invested into the venue … because people who were in line, ready to pay the door fee, bounced after rumor got out that ‘Cassidy pulled a no show.’ By the time Cassidy hit the stage, more than half of the people who showed up to see him spit left without even steppin’ foot in the club.
The next day, Nubian called Cassidy to make sure he was gonna be at the video shoot. Shanay answered and said ‘Cassidy isn’t doing the video with you.’ He wanted to charge her more money, after he emptied her pockets and sabotaged her concert.
Word on the streets later got out that Cassidy did a video with a white rapper named DaveyLow, here in Buffalo, for a rack and some weed before he flew back to Philly.”
