Joell Ortiz Responds To Kendrick Lamar, Says He "Ain't The King Of New York"
Joell Ortiz becomes the first rapper to respond lyrically to Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Control."

With this afternoon's release of Joell Ortiz' "Outta Control," Hip Hop fans now have their first official, lyrical response to Kendrick Lamar's highly-praised verse on Big Sean's "Control."

On "Outta Control," Joell Ortiz boasts, "Ya'll knew I wasn't gonna stay quiet" at the start of the song before directly addressing the TDE emcee's claims to the title of King Of New York and his desire to set the bar in Hip Hop.

"Lil homie you ain't the King Of New York/You the next thing on my fork...Maybe that's why you left me out of that shit/Maybe that's why the Slaughterhouse ain't get dissed or maybe I'm not on your radar," Ortiz raps.

Although Ortiz is not mentioned by name on "Control," Kendrick does go on to call out J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Mac Miller, and a handful of other rappers.

Ortiz also makes brief mention to his time spent at Aftermath Entertainment, a label Kendrick's currently signed to as he raps, "I'll leave the King of L.A. to Dre, I was this close to staying Aftermath but lamped out like a genie/Dre you a fuckin gangsta and [Kerniss] you such a sweetie and guess what I'm a free agent again if y'all ever need me."

Kendrick's guest verse on "Control" even sparked a minor feud between Joe Budden and Styles P on Twitter as the two emcees exchanged words over the lack of response from New York rappers following the release of "Control." Budden has since deleted his response to Styles P.

Whoever he called out was supposed to have chirped back by 12 noon!
